Nordic Tip
Maintenance of Skis
Uses:
Maintaining skis will help you to perform at your peak.
Tip:
- Wax skis every couple of weekends during ski season, as needed.
- Have a professional ski
technician tune your skis, as needed.
- Switch skis from left to
right to distribute wear evenly, unless skis are specifically designed
for each foot.
- Apply liquid wax, paste
wax or cake wax to the bottom of your skis. This will coat them as you
ski.
- Check skis if they feel
unstable, the edges don't work on hard snow, or if skis hook, catch or
grab.
- Seal bases of skis with
storage wax at the end of every season, to keep them from oxidizing and
rusting. Scrape wax off before
skiing the following winter.
Warning:
Skiing is an inherently dangerous activity that can result in serious injury.
We recommend that you seek proper training and equipment before attempting this
activity.
